as gravity tries and tries to pull sea mauville's structures deeper into the ocean, she finds herself readily volunteering to assist however she can. she might not be able to stop the structure from crumbling, but no matter... the wildlife need more help, she's finding.

and amongst them, a familiar face swarms into sight.

her head turns as she's ushering some corsola to their newly created home of fresh coral just off the shore to find yuina. despite herself, she stares for almost longer than necessary as the last few corsola follow her idly waving hands to their new home away from threats.

once they're settled in, she shifts to approach.

To know that all of this was happening at the cusp of preparing for the conflict ahead... Yuina couldn't help but wonder why now, why all of a sudden... It almost felt orchestrated, as did other things that had taken place in the wake of the war to come. Investigation could come later though, there wasn't any time to waste on wondering why and how when it was already happening. Did anyone else feel that same nuance come into play?[break][break]
Cast in the shadow of the Braviary that lofted easily on open sea breezes, Yuina moved towards her next assignment, making circles around the entire sea mauville from one post to the next it seemed. The Pokémon in the surrounding area needed to be relocated and ensured for their safety, but it was an assignment she was not granted alone.[break][break]
"Harrow, make sure the surrounding area is secure, we can't let anything happen to these Pokémon while they're vulnerable," Yuina requested first of the bird above her. On open wings the Braviary swept over Yuina and out into the open air to scout their surroundings and make sure that nothing might encroach upon them.[break][break]
"Yeah, I'm here to help, uhm-- where can I start? Is there another school of Corsola that we need to escort," Yuina returns, not as easily as she faces Illeana, but she could at least try to keep things even. The Pokémon were more important than her shadows.

the school of corsola have been relatively easy going about this whole thing, but keeping them in smaller groups assisted with keeping them safe from any nearby threats.

and as all things require balance, so too does the ease of this operation for the remaining group of corsola have caught the eye of some mareanie.

While Harrow's figure grew more distant in the skies beyond, Yuina glanced back towards the shallows that they were working within, following Illeana's gesture towards where the last group of Corsola remained that needed to be tended to.[break][break]
Looking out to the section remaining, the water was not as calm as it had been just moments ago, rippling and splashing as a Corsola leaped out of the water, followed by a blue arm that tried to swing after it.[break][break]
"Oh no," Yuina remarked, moving quicker then, and within the shallows it was plain to see that a clutch of Mareanie had found the dwindling school of corsola and thought they could make easy work of a round up. Thinking as quick as she could, Yuina wasn't one hundred percent confident that this was the best place to test theories and experiment, but this was a situation that called for some unique problem solving to handle.[break][break]
Taking out a Pokeball, Yuina hoped for the best, releasing a recent discovery of hers. Awash in hues of magenta and pale lilac, with a toxic chain secured around its midsection, a Hisuian Typhlosion emerged and stood in the shallow waters. To her surprise, but also to prove her theory correct... The once fire type was unphased by the water it stood in... She was right.[break][break]
"Ara, confuse ray," Yuina called, nearly giddy with watching her theories come alive. The typhlosion huffed, looking out to the handful of offending Pokemon and began to wade through the water, eyes aglow with the energy of Confuse Ray, and one by one he began to pluck them out of the water and move them off to the side in their stupor, both by paw and by the toxic chain that moved of his will, like a second set of arms, resistant to the poison of their barbs.

the aggressive mareanie are stalled slightly by the well-timed confuse ray. their bodies sway and stumble, allowing time for the frightened corsola to begin rushing toward the women.

she looks on, stepping closer as the last of the corsola retreat.

and once they are out of reach from the mareanie, the alchemist begins to corral the confused mareanie with small spatial barriers. each little translucent wall of pink cages them in until they're neatly boxed into place.

"there," she murmurs, extinguishing the glow of her hands. "we can release them once these corsola are relocated."

The Mareanie were simple to placate, Ara made swift work of plucking them out of the water to get them away from the Corsola. Yuina started to work on directing the Corsola away from the gathering of poison types while Illeana contained them, eyeing briefly the ethereal pink tinge that lofted around her hands.[break][break]
The Typhlosion stood in the shallows, shaking water from his fur, moving to keep himself between the boxed urchins and the Corsola that needed to keep moving, just in case. One particular corsola seemed to be drifting a bit in the water, difficulty moving, and Yuina moved closer to find that it had a prick in its pink stalks, likely from one of the Mareanie.[break][break]
"Hold on, hold on, I won't hurt you," Yuina hummed, reaching out gently to take the Corsola up from the water. She wasn't a doctor or a nurse by any means, but she certainly had a wealth of second hand experience at this point given her current and regular company. That, and as she slowly worked to build... something, with the green sprite that had taken to her, she had some resources at hand.[break][break]
From her small supply pack, Yuina drew out a small vile, blue Life Dew glowing softly within the glass. It only took a few drops, and the Corsola trilled at the relief.[break][break]
"I think we're just about finished, so long as none of the other Corsola may have gotten hurt," Yuina offered as she looked out to Illeana, gently letting the Corsola she held back down into the water so that it could join its school.

with the mareanie dealt with, she's able to drift closer to the school of corsola to inspect them. she bends at the waist to get a better look, eyes roaming over their pink bodies for signs of injury. so far, it seems they're relatively unscathed...

the one with yuina, however, is the only one injured. she observes quietly after running a gentle hand over the cluster of corsola to soothe them. the prick is removed and a life dew heals the remaining discomfort until all they have left are a bunch of happy corsola.

it brings a small smile to her lips.

"this bunch seem to be doing okay, just a little startled."

[break][break]

with a soft wave of idle hands, half of the translucent barriers dissipate to release the corsola toward the direction of their new home. only one seems to take the first brave step, however.

All in all, it was fortunate that if anything there was only one Corsola that had been injured, and everything else went relatively smooth. The corals were ready to move now that they were calmed and had been checked to make sure they were healthy.[break][break]
Yuina gently set down the one Corsola that she assisted, watching it skuttle back into the water and swim to meet up with the rest of its school, reunited and elated at being tended to.[break]
That did leave the matter of the unruly Mareanie that they had separated though.[break][break]
"What should we do with all of the Mareanie? Where can they go?"

at the question, she pauses. her eyes drift along the ocean's surface toward where the mareanie waited.

it might not stop them from coming back, but there was some level of possibility there. the mareanie, in the end, will drift to where their food supply is. they can only delay the inevitable for a little while. it would be enough time, however, for the corsola to settle in and formulate their own lines of defense against their invaders.
